Benefits of Virtual Events

Virtual Benefits

At the moment one of the more obvious benefits of virtual events is that it frees us from the restrictions imposed by COVID-19; it also, guarantees a safer experience for all those involved.

But before COVID there were already plenty of other good reasons to host a virtual event.

The reach that a virtual event can have compared to a physical event is quite tremendous. It leverages the power of the internet to connect as many people as needed from across the globe.

Another Benefit of Virtual Events is that it allows us to connect with our customers or staff without the need to get them to a venue or specific location.

Allowing a cut on travel costs and accommodation for example.

Doesn’t mean we have to go full virtual though. Most of us would rather choose a more hybrid approach with an event happening at a venue and then being streamed over the web.

For some of our clients the fact that they can just tune in for a few hours to watch a product launch or conference is a great benefit in terms of time.

Some people love going to conferences. And many of us wish we could attend more; but with our incredibly busy lifestyles it’s getting harder to fit things in.

So being able to attend a Virtual Event remotely is definitely a great benefit.

Conference Benefits

On the other hand there are still some things that virtual events can’t do as well as live events.

There is less networking opportunity, although there are options now to help facilitate this more.

There is also a bit less of an attendee “experience” shall we call it.

The noise of the crowd; the anticipation before an award is given; or the attention that is given when a truly interesting debate is being had by a panel session.

Some people go to events or host them for different purposes as well. It’s hard to treat some of your best clients to a nice meal and some entertainment at a virtual award show…

Reducing the Benefits of Virtual Events, but virtual events can still make your event one to remember.

To Conclude

Overall I would say that the benefits of virtual events or live events really come down to the message of your event and the goal that you are trying to achieve.

But at the moment with all the restrictions surrounding events it is definitely a good time to try virtual events.
